Ex- or infiltration into sewer systems are a key challenge for network owners and contractors. The occurrence of these defects is a clear indication for the poor condition of sewer networks, which should be rehabilitated or replaced as soon as possible. Replacement of defective pipe with open trenches (digging) is however expensive, and time-consuming; in critical areas like inner cities or main roads, it may even be impossible.
Therefor trenchless rehabilitation and repair technologies via existing manholes have been continuously developed and improved. One option is the rehabilitation of sewers using cured in place liners, which may in most cases be installed via existing manholes, the technology is applicable for nearly any pipe geometry. In order to achieve a 100 % and long lasting tightness of the pipe, additional sealing works may become applicable. Now our methods and products come into play: resinnovation GmbH, Rülzheim, develops, manufactures and supplies a number of high quality Epoxy resin systems, which perfectly meet the requirements of trenchless sewer rehabilitation.
After installation of a CIP liner the laterals must be re-opened by cutting robot, and the lateral connections be sealed by grouting. resinnovation provides high performance grouting resins Harz4 and Harz14 – both approved by DIBt (German Institute for Structural Engineering). Special mixing methods ensure constant high quality on site. Thereafter the CIP liner must be connected to the host pipe and the manhole: we developed Harz8 especially to meet these requirements. The durably flexible, DIBt approved bright red Epoxy resin bonds the liner to the shaft and in addition seals the annular gap, even with PE and PP.
Abortive drillings during re-opening of laterals or occurring stress cracks after installation of a CIP liner have to be immediately repaired. Our proven PARTLINER™ is the perfect solution. PARTLINER™ is DIBt approved for the repair of voids, cracks and misaligned joints in sewer pipes, and in addition for the repair of defective CIP linings, such as damages caused by high pressure jetting, stress cracks or abortive drillings. Moreover our outstanding high viscous resin system Harz12 suits perfectly for the manual or robotic grouting of cracks, holes/voids and leaking joints.
